Care at the Chemist is a scheme that allows you to obtain medicines and advice for certain illnesses from your local pharmacy without having to go to your doctors first. If you do not pay for your prescriptions you will not have to pay for any medicines supplied through this service.

Patients who are eligible for free prescriptions can access the scheme along with those who have a medical exemption card. Please ask your pharmacist for more information on who can use the scheme.

This service is for the treatment of a new occurrence of one of the ailments listed above. If the ailment is ongoing we advise you to speak to your doctor.

If you are except for your prescriptions all medicines supplied through the scheme will be free of charge. If you usually pay for your prescriptions you will only pay for what the item costs.

Our pharmacist will ask you some questions to asses your need for the medication and determine the most effective and suitable treatment for your needs. Our pharmacist may decide that you should see your doctor or give other advice without supplying any medicines.
